i woke up yesterday longing for the company of this good friend. it's been over a year since we parted ways and still he visits most of my dreams, barking and bounding through the new england backyard i miss so desperately. such a dignified scoundrel, such a lovable troublemaker. your best friend when he's curled up warm against your belly and your worst enemy when he's chewing your dirty laundry.

we spent the few days after our wedding in the red rock deserts of southern utah. it was cold and beautiful.

we have a home! a small, cinderblock box home, but nevertheless, a home. our first home together. these photos are a bit outdated--i recently refurnished with some artwork and book shelves--but this is the general idea of our second-floor studio apartment (don't worry, we have a closet and a bathroom as well. i just chose not to photograph them). note that there is plenty of space for an air mattress on the floor or an extra body on the couch, as well as spare chairs for dinner guests. keep us company!
